 George Markopoulos has been windsurfing for over 20 years on the DelMarVa and on Maui. He is a sponsored team rider for RRD Windsurfing and Stand Up Paddle Boards and A&O Sports out on the gorge in Oregon. George has a love of the water and extreme sports. He stand up paddles around the DelMarVa during non-windy days. On windy days, you'll find George at Assateague riding waves on his RRD Twin Fins or enjoying a radical bump and jump session on the Delaware Bay, near the Lewes Public Parking Lot during nor'easters.
 George is an accountant and CPA, and earned his master degree in International Management at the University of Maryland, but you would never know. He definately doesn't fit the stereotype of an accountant.
He is an avid lover of the outdoors, wind, water and waves. George has a daughter, Kristin, who plays competitive volleyball.
George created and maintains Live2Sail, a diary of his windsurfing and Stand Up Paddling adventures. He writes professionally for various windsurfing magazines

 George's wife, Janis, supports his passions and enjoys Stand Up Paddling too. She provides most of the photography for George's Blog and for events such as the Hatteras Wave Jam. Some of her best work is featured in Windsurfing International and Windsport and Windsurfing Magazine. Janis has 20+ years of corporate America experience implementing retail business systems, retail point of sale systems, CRM systems, inventory control systems, and eMarketing systems such as Constant Contact eMarketing, where you can try eMarketing for 60 Days for free.
 On cold, rainy days, you'll find Janis scrapbooking in her villa scrapbook studio or maintaining one of the several community blogs and social media sites she has developed for her community. Janis feels it's important to maintain a safe and healthy quality of life in communities by keeping residents informed and in constant contact through social media and community events. Janis' daughter, Lauren, is going to St. Mary's College of Maryland to study humanities.
Janis has created and now maintains, Live2SUP, where she documents the Stand Up Paddling adventures for middle age women and empty nesters trying to be more active and healthy. |
